It's coming fast! The first day of Kindergarten is just a few days away. Make sure you are getting lost of sleep at night because you will need all of your energy to learn in class.
On Thursday morning, we will line up outside of the Kindergarten doors. They are the ones with a great big "K" on them. Our class lines up by the number "4" that is painted on the ground right by the door with the "K." I will be outside waiting for you!
Our first day is going to be wonderful! I have all kinds of fun things planned already.
Parents, I do have a few things that we will need for class. If you would like to donate some of the following items, I would truly appreciate it, although it is not something you have to do.
We can always use hand sanitizer, ziploc bags of any size, band-aids, kleenex and clorox wipes. I am also looking for some plastic spoons for an activity we will be doing in class. Each activity group will need a set of 30 white plastic spoons and 30 clear plastic spoons.
If you decide you would like to help out with any of these items please send them with your child on the first day of school.
Thank you so much for all of your help.
I look forward to meeting the rest of our class this week and starting school on Thursday morning!
See you all soon!
Love,
Mrs. Newman

Housekeeping!
Monday - Thursday the line up bell will ring at 8:25. Class STARTS at 8:30 and gets out at 11:18
Friday is our early-release schedule. The line up bell will still ring at 8:25 and class will still start at 8:30, but class ends at 10:30.
We line up outside of the Kindergarten doors on the number 4.
Our class will be rotating every three weeks into the off-track Kindergarten room. This will be a fun adventure for our class and we will be using our "super-kindergarteners" to help us find our way from room to room.

Initial Assessment Meetings
Hello again!
This post is very important for all of you parents!
During our meetings this week I will be assessing your child's current knowledge and understanding of some of the curriculum we will be covering during the school year. This assessment gives me a starting point for my teaching of the curriculum this year.
It is a pretty thorough assessment and will take pretty much the entire 45 minute block we are scheduled to meet.
Make sure your child gets a good night rest the night before our scheduled meeting time, and a quick trip to the bathroom isn't a bad idea either. If you are set up to meet with me first thing in the morning, make sure your child gets breakfast, and if we are meeting later in the morning a snack before you come would be helpful! After all, it is hard to think when you are hungry. :)
There will be important papers for you to review and fill out while I am working with your child. They will be found on the table just outside of our classroom.
I look forward to starting this year and getting all of our fun and learning underway.
Thank you in advance for your help and support throughout the upcoming school year.
Love,
Mrs. Newman

Welcome!
Hello new Kindergartners and Parents! I am so excited to be working and learning with you this year! We have so many fun things to look forward to, but first things first.
You should be getting a letter from me in the mail any day now. Please don't forget to draw me a picture to bring that first day. I have a special place waiting for it. You could even try writing some words on the page if you wanted to.
Please explore the class blog and if you have time, check out some of the learning links too! They are lots of fun.
Enjoy your last few days of summer break and I will be working very hard to get everything ready for you to come to class next week.
Love,
Mrs. Newman
